Living with passion for what you do is just as important as believing in who your are -> with self belief, anything is possible.
Over the last 6 weeks especially I’ve met some wonderfully inspirational people that have truly combined what they love with what they are good at – from Australian of the Year award winners to small business owners or a team within a charitable foundation. 99% took the hard road to figure it all out. 100% are proud ambassadors or the choices they have made, the path they chose and the importance of believing in themselves.
This resonated with me, as one of THE key success factors for optimum health and wellness is Self Belief. Anyone wanting to look, feel and be, their absolute personal best has to take the first step to announce without any doubt – I CAN DO THIS.
Feeling fantastic and keeping it is not a quick fix – it’s a lifestyle choice with rewards that money can’t by. For example:
- · Increased energy
- · Increased self awareness
- · Increased inner strength (the “I can do anything” feeling)
- · Positivity with others
- · Leadership and clear thinking
- · Ideal body shape
- · Reduced risk of disease and illness
- · Glowing, younger looking skin
- · Ability to take on new challenges
- · Increase performance both mental and physical
- · Increased enjoyment from life!
I’ve learnt over the years that in order for clients (groups or individuals) – to really achieve weight loss, more energy, improved brainpower and performance at work, motivation to keep going and the ability to sustain feeling fantastic as a lifestyle for themselves and for their family - they need to BELIEVE this is important and they have to WANT to make it happen.
As coaches, personal trainers or just friends and family we are there to ensure those dear to us have the best tools and credible advice to achieving their goals, to encourage self belief and to support that journey.
As individuals with a personal goal – we need to take responsibility for our choices, make actions that take us closer towards what we want to achieve and find tips, tools and experts that EMPOWER us to be our personal best.
Our top ten tips to clients who want to achieve their personal best (weight loss, run 10km, do a triathlon, reduce heart disease risk, recover from exhaustion, enjoy a holiday on the beach and be proud of their body, play with their kids or even start making a family..)
- 1. Be clear about WHAT you really want and that your reasons are more than just skin deep
- 2. Make sure you want the BEST of you – don’t try to copy someone else
- 3. Set goals in stages -and reward yourself along the way
- 4. Don’t blame others - you are in control, it’s your body, your life, your decision (if someone doesn’t turn up for training it’s their loss, you’re there, ready to go – make it happen)
- 5. Take Responsibility – your positive lifestyle actions need to continue regardless of others around you and you need to make that time in your agenda. Replace one OLD habit with one NEW positive habit.
- 6. Believe in the power of positive thinking – it REALLY WORKS!
- 7. Write down your personal MANTRA – memorise it, say it over and over again.
- 8. We are what we think, do and say “ I am fit healthy, inspired and empowered”, smile when people compliment you, feel gratitude if others want to challenge your true grit – they are just testing.
- 9. Take time to reflect, moments of ‘meditation’ and visualise you at your personal best
- 10. Don’t give up – life throws us curve balls to provide valuable lessons and help us grow, learn from the past but be in the moment – my motto Create the Life you Want and enjoy the journey making it happen.
Feeling fantastic can mean different things to us all – find what makes your heart sing, do that more often, involve others in your journey that you trust and admire. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We all need support whatever the goal
